Viluchinsk Zerkalka is a kitesurfing spot near the closed city of Viluchinsk, on the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, in Avacha Bay. The name "Zerkalka" refers to the nearby calm lake or water body.
Avacha Bay offers a semi-sheltered water body with a spectacular setting: snow-capped volcanoes in the background, including Vilyuchinsky (2173 m). Conditions are calmer than open sea but remain demanding.
Winds come mainly from the south and southeast in summer. Season is very short, July to September. Water is very cold (5-13°C), drysuit or semi-dry mandatory. Spot reserved for experienced riders due to remoteness and extreme conditions.
Open all year round
