Wiggins Point is a spot on the mainland, on the Neuse River at its mouth with Pamlico Sound. This body of water is very large — the Neuse River is one of the widest estuaries in North America at this point. The spot offers exposed wind conditions thanks to the opening toward Pamlico Sound. The water is flat but can become choppy in strong wind over the large fetch. Intermediate spot due to variable depth and tidal currents. Good freeride spot with plenty of space.
Flat to choppy water on the Neuse River estuary. Fetch can be very long in east wind, creating significant chop. Variable depth, influenced by tides and wind. Mixed sand/mud bottom. Large open riding space toward Pamlico Sound. Conditions can be very windy thanks to the exposure.
