Fort Fisher is a spot at the southern tip of Pleasure Island, near the historic Fort Fisher site (Confederate Civil War fort). The beach is wild and part of Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. The area offers both Atlantic Ocean access and proximity to The Basin on the river side. It's a historic and natural spot, with the Fort Fisher Aquarium nearby. The beach is less developed than beaches further north, offering a wilder setting for kiting.
