Port-Camargue Plage Nord — little sister of Plage Sud, like its elder it is a spot suited to freestyle kitesurfing. Protected by a series of breakwaters, shallow water — ideal terrain for tricks and committed moves. Works in W to NW wind sector. CLOSED in summer (June 1 – September 15) — switch to Plage Sud or Espiguette. Flat area on the port side, choppier/swellier offshore. Less crowded than Plage Sud, but more irregular wind in N/NE.

Spot functioning
Address: 2b avenue Jean Lasserre, 30240 Le Grau-du-Roi (in front of the Seaquarium). Works mainly in W to NW. In N/NE the buildings create turbulence — very irregular wind. Breakwaters: flat playground but keep your distance. Flat area on the port side — many windsurfers. Offshore side: choppier/swellier. In N wind: possible downwind towards Plage Sud for more consistent conditions.
Parking near the Seaquarium, avenue Jean Lasserre. Easy access.
Wind specificities
West W: THE reference wind — flat protected behind the breakwaters, ideal for freestyle. NW (Tramontane): works well, flat behind the breakwaters. Pure W sessions are very rare but excellent! N/NE (Mistral): buildings upwind create turbulence — very irregular wind. Prefer Plage Sud (more consistent in N). SE/S/E: offshore or sheltered — no conditions here. Go to Espiguette.
Hazards
CLOSED FROM JUNE 1 TO SEPTEMBER 15 — prefectural beach zoning decree. Launch area long but narrow — sand fences downwind, be careful! Breakwaters: allow a flat playground but DO NOT get close to them. In N/NE: buildings upwind block the wind — very turbulent and irregular wind. Advanced level recommended — tricky launch, limited space.
