Amatikulu River Mouth is a kite spot at the Amatikulu River mouth, on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. This wild, isolated spot offers river and ocean conditions. Warm waters (22-26°C). Very uncrowded area. Reserved for advanced riders due to isolation and river mouth currents.
The spot works in NE to SE winds. The river mouth creates variable conditions with sandbars and currents. Conditions dependent on river flow and tide.

The dominant wind is the NE (summer trade wind), blowing side-onshore. The river mouth can create local effects. Year-round, best October to April.
Strong currents at the mouth. Bull sharks present. Crocodiles possible. Hippos upstream. Very isolated spot with no rescue. Buddy system mandatory.
