Wreck Beach is located at the western tip of the UBC (University of British Columbia) peninsula in Vancouver. This west/northwest-facing spot offers direct exposure to the Georgia Strait. Known as a clothing-optional beach, access is via a long staircase from the campus cliffs. Exposed spot with more consistent wind than English Bay beaches.
Choppy to rough water depending on wind. Direct exposure to the Georgia Strait with good fetch in NW winds. Sand and pebble bottom. Tidal currents possible along the point. Waves can build in strong NW or W winds.

Difficult access: long steep staircase from the cliffs (carrying gear is strenuous). Tidal currents along UBC point. Marine traffic (cargo ships approaching Vancouver harbour). Exposed spot — avoid in offshore winds (E/SE). Cold water. Limited quick rescue access.
