Ngunguru Spit is a kitesurfing spot located on the Ngunguru sand spit, on the east coast of Northland, near Tutukaka. The spit separates the Ngunguru estuary from the open sea, offering two sides with different conditions. Northeasterly to easterly winds are onshore on the sea side. The estuary side offers a flat and sheltered water area. Tides influence the navigable area on both sides. The bottom is sandy. Spot suitable for beginners (estuary side) and intermediates (sea side).
