Matapouri is a kitesurfing spot located on the east coast of Northland, north of Whangarei. This bay features a white sand beach in a beautiful natural setting, known for its crystal-clear waters. Northeasterly to easterly winds are onshore. The bay offers partial protection. Pacific swell is moderate. The bottom is sandy. The beach is popular with swimmers in summer. Spot for intermediate riders.
