Matauri Bay is a kitesurfing spot located on the east coast of Northland, between the Bay of Islands and the Karikari Peninsula. This picturesque bay is surrounded by green hills and offers a golden sand beach. Northeasterly to easterly winds are onshore. The bay offers some protection depending on the wind direction. Pacific swell reaches the bay with easterly winds. The bottom is sandy. Spot for intermediate riders.
