Shelly Beach is a kitesurfing spot located on the west coast of South Australia, near Ceduna on the Great Australian Bight. It is an isolated and wild spot on one of the most remote coasts of Australia. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest to west, blowing onshore on this coast very exposed to the Southern Ocean. Waves can be powerful. The bottom is a mix of sand and reef. The isolation is total. The spot is reserved for advanced and expert riders. No rescue services nearby. The area is known for the presence of great white sharks. Riding with a buddy is mandatory and full self-sufficiency is required.
