Overview

Blue Beach is a spot on Nova Scotia's north coast, on the Northumberland Strait facing Prince Edward Island. The strait offers the warmest waters in Atlantic Canada (21°C in summer). Blue Beach is also known for its Devonian fossils (360 million years old). Pleasant riding in a unique geological setting.

Northumberland Strait — warm waters (18-21°C in summer). Moderate chop without ocean swell. Sandy and clay bottom. Moderate semi-diurnal tides. Fetch 15-30 km.

Hazards

Slippery clay bottom. Eroded clay cliffs — do not ride too close. Tidal currents. Protected fossil site — do not collect fossils.
