Ohope is a kitesurfing spot located on the long Ohope Beach, in the eastern Bay of Plenty. This white sand beach stretches over 10 km, offering considerable space for riding. The beach faces north, making it ideal for northerly to northeasterly winds (summer sea breeze). Southwesterly and westerly winds are offshore and unsuitable. Swell can be significant with northerly winds, making conditions more demanding. Spot recommended for intermediate to advanced riders due to waves and currents.
