Myrsini is a spot on the west coast of the Peloponnese, in the Ilia (Elis) region, facing the Ionian Sea. This long sandy beach faces west and receives the dominant "Maestro" (NW) wind as side-onshore, as well as westerly thermal breezes.
The west coast of the Peloponnese offers gentler, less intense wind conditions than the east coast (exposed to the Meltemi). The NW Maestro blows regularly in summer, offering reliable conditions for kitesurfing. Long, open beach, ideal for riding.
The spot works from May to September with the NW Maestro. Typical afternoon sessions (1-7 PM). Long sandy beaches offer unlimited space for launching and riding. Gentler, steadier conditions than Aegean spots — ideal for progression.
Open Ionian Sea water. In NW Maestro, chop of 30-60cm with possible long swell. Sandy bottom with progressive depth. Warmer water than the Aegean (24-27°C in summer). Ionian Sea waves are generally longer and more regular than Aegean chop.

Parking along the coastal road or on paths leading to the beach. Sparsely urbanized area with long deserted beaches. Few services in the immediate vicinity — stock up in Pyrgos or Amaliada. Access from the Olympia Odos highway (Patras-Pyrgos).
Coastal currents along the beach in strong Maestro. West coast beaches are often deserted — sail in groups. Shore break possible with western swell. Little organized lifeguard coverage. In case of problems, rescue may take a long time to arrive.
The dominant wind is the NW Maestro, blowing from May to September, typically 12-20 knots in the afternoon. It arrives side-onshore on this west-facing coast. W/WSW thermal breeze also develops in the afternoon when the synoptic Maestro is weak, creating lighter conditions (10-15 knots).
Unlike the Aegean Sea, no violent Meltemi here — wind is generally steadier and less gusty.
