Kitesurfing spot in Leclercville, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, in the Lotbinière region (Chaudière-Appalaches). The river is still relatively wide at this location, between Deschaillons and Lotbinière.

The site offers river access with interesting fetch from north winds. The river corridor between Trois-Rivières and Quebec City channels west and east winds. Quiet rural area, far from major cities. Season from June to October.

Fresh water from the St. Lawrence River. Temperature of 19-22°C in summer. Muddy to rocky bottom. Moderate to sustained river current — watch for drift. Chop formed by wind against current. The river progressively narrows toward Quebec City.

Hazards

Sustained river current — risk of downstream drift. Commercial shipping in the main channel. Rocks and shallows along the shore. Recreational boat traffic in summer. Cold water in spring and fall.
