Venø East is a renowned spot on the east side of Venø island in the Limfjord, central Jutland. Venø harbor is recognized as a versatile spot suitable for all levels, with protected flat water in the fjord. It is one of the spots promoted by the Destination Limfjorden tourism board.
Venø island offers a peaceful, preserved setting. You can sail on the north or south side of the harbor depending on wind direction, making it a very versatile spot. 3,571 kiteable hours/year and 2,014 strong wind hours.
Spot frequented by kitesurfers from the Struer/Limfjord area.
The spot works primarily in westerly winds (W, NW) which blow over the island and arrive onshore on the east side. In south winds, sail on the south side of the harbor. In north winds, sail on the north side. The complementary Kleppen spot on the mainland offers a ferry-free alternative.
Flat to lightly choppy water in the fjord. Sandy bottom with few stones and minimal seaweed. Protected conditions ideal for beginners and freestyle. Shallow depth. Long runs possible in the fjord.

Good parking at Venø Harbor (Venø Havn). Access only by the Venø ferry from Kleppen (few minutes crossing, runs year-round). Option to sail on the north or south side of the harbor depending on wind.
Few dangers - protected fjord water, shallow, sandy bottom. Watch for boats in the fjord and the Venø ferry.
Best winds are W and NW (optimal, rated 5/5), followed by S and SW (rated 2/5). The Limfjord channels wind effectively, increasing its strength. Prevailing westerly winds arrive with good power on the east side of the island. Windiest months: June (540h), July (532h), May (509h).
