Moesgaard Beach is the kitesurfing spot south of Aarhus, on the east coast of Jutland facing the Kattegat. It is part of the Aarhus Bay spot network that also includes Skæring Strand to the north. The Aarhus coastline is recognized in several kite guides as a regional kitesurfing hub.

East-facing spot: onshore in easterly winds. Skæring Strand north of Aarhus offers an alternative for other conditions. In prevailing westerly winds, Aarhus riders move to the Limfjord, Ringkøbing Fjord or the west coast.

Open all year. Aarhus offers all the amenities of a major city. Best period April to October.
Intermediate
Choppy to flat depending on wind direction. The east-facing coast gets chop in easterly winds (onshore). Sandy bottom. Bay conditions with moderate fetch. In NE or SE winds (side-shore), more manageable conditions.
Parking at Moesgaard Strand and near Moesgaard Museum. Accessible by bus from Aarhus city center.
Works primarily in east, northeast and southeast winds (onshore). Westerly winds are offshore and don't work here - local riders then head to the west coast of Jutland. Wind often reinforced by channeling effect in the bay.
Currents in Aarhus Bay. Not a beginner spot in strong winds. Maritime traffic in the bay (Aarhus port nearby). Swimming area in summer.
