Barsebäck Strand is a kitesurfing spot located on the west coast of Skåne, facing the Öresund, the strait separating Sweden from Denmark. The spot is situated near the former Barsebäck nuclear power plant, now decommissioned. The westward exposure facing the Öresund captures the prevailing southwest and west winds. The strait offers a body of water with moderate fetch, creating pleasant sailing conditions. The spot is also exposed to southeast winds that can blow through the strait. Barsebäck Strand is a popular spot for kitesurfers from the Malmö and Lund area. Access is easy and the beach offers good space for rigging. The spot is suitable for intermediate riders.
