Beacon 19 Coorong is a kitesurf spot located in the Coorong National Park in South Australia, near the mouth of the Murray River. The Coorong is a 140 km long protected coastal lagoon, separated from the ocean by a long peninsula of dunes. It is a site of international importance for migratory birds. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest in summer, blowing regularly and powerfully over the lagoon. The water is flat to slightly choppy in the lagoon, offering excellent conditions for freestyle. Depth varies with very shallow areas. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suitable for self-sufficient intermediate riders. Access requires a 4WD vehicle via the beach. No facilities on site. The Coorong offers a wild and spectacular landscape unique to Australia.
