Favorable winds come from the south, southwest, west, and northwest. The authorized kite zone is at the western end of the costanera. The season runs from October to March.

The spot suits intermediate riders. Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage town, offers a unique cultural and historical setting for kite sessions.
