Motueka Inlet is a kitesurf spot located in the Motueka estuary, in Tasman Bay, on the South Island of New Zealand. This estuary offers flat and shallow water conditions, very different from the open ocean. It is an excellent learning spot in a sheltered environment. The prevailing winds come from the north and northwest. The spot is perfectly suited for beginners thanks to the calm and shallow estuary waters. Watch out for tides: the spot is only rideable at mid-tide and high tide, as the estuary drains considerably at low tide.
