Overview

Maubuisson (Lac de Carcans) is a beginner and wing foil spot on the Carcans lake, run by the local kite school. The flat freshwater and consistent southwest to northwest winds make it an excellent learning spot. A well-organised site with school infrastructure, ideal for first lessons or gentle progressive sessions.

In summer, there is often a north thermal wind of 12-15 knots in the late afternoon.
Hazards
No particular dangers. Some sandy shallow areas can be problematic for foiling depending on the water level.
Watch out for motorboats coming out of the port and canal.
