Benbrook Lake is a 3,770-acre reservoir southwest of Fort Worth, in Tarrant County. This US Army Corps of Engineers lake on the Clear Fork of the Trinity River offers convenient kitesurfing access for riders in the western DFW metroplex. The lake is surrounded by gentle hills and wooded areas. Its proximity to Fort Worth makes it an accessible option for an after-work or weekend session without the long drive to the larger northern lakes.
Good-sized freshwater body with decent fetch in multiple directions. Moderate chop in sustained winds. Murky water typical of DFW lakes. Variable depth with shallows near shoreline. More protected areas in the lake arms offer flat water conditions.
