Brøndby Strand is one of the kitesurfing spots in the Copenhagen area, on the Køge Bugt (Køge Bay) coast south of the capital. It is part of a network of over 20 spots around Copenhagen including Sydvestpynten, Amager Strandpark and Brøndby. This spot is a recognized practice location for the Copenhagen kite community.

The east-facing spot works as onshore in east, northeast or southeast winds. In westerly winds (prevailing in Denmark), Copenhagen kitesurfers head to Sydvestpynten (west-facing) or Roskilde Fjord spots instead.

Open all year. Best period April to October with warmer temperatures and thermal winds.
Intermediate
Flat to moderately choppy water in Køge Bay. Protected from westerly winds by the island of Zealand itself. Works best in easterly winds. Sandy bottom, progressive depth.
Urban beach easily accessible from Copenhagen. Public transport available (S-tog train). Parking near the beach.
Works primarily in easterly winds (onshore). Westerly winds are offshore here and don't work. The spot benefits from thermal breezes in summer during sunny weather. Generally moderate winds compared to west coast spots.
Maritime traffic in the Øresund. Swimming areas nearby - maintain safe distance from swimmers. Possible currents in the strait.
