Lake Pearson (Moana Rua) is a kitesurf spot located in Arthur's Pass, Canterbury, at 608 meters altitude. This alpine lake is surrounded by mountains and beech forests, offering a spectacular setting. The Nor'wester is the dominant wind, accelerated by the pass and can be very powerful and gusty. Katabatic northwest winds descend from the mountains with force. The lake is relatively small but develops chop in strong winds. The water is very cold. No tides. Spot for advanced riders due to unpredictable gusts.
