Prevailing winds come from the northeast, east, and southeast, with speeds of 15-25 knots during the season (December to March). The water offers waves and chop, ideal for wave kitesurfing and strapless riding.

The spot suits intermediate to advanced riders due to waves and currents. Punta del Este is Uruguay's most upscale beach resort, with full tourist infrastructure. The iconic "La Mano" sculpture is nearby.
