Alūksne Lake is in north-eastern Latvia, in the Vidzeme region. It is a picturesque lake surrounded by hills, with the ruins of Marienburg Castle on an island.

The lake offers flat water conditions for kitesurfing. The water is fresh with moderate depth. Several wind directions work thanks to the relatively round shape of the lake.

Alūksne is a small town with basic services. The lake is at 183 metres altitude, one of Latvia's highest lakes. The season runs from May to October. The spot suits beginners.
