Ferring Sø is a freshwater coastal lake near Lemvig, separated from the North Sea by a narrow strip of land (Holmsland). The lake is 3.6 km long and 1.3 km wide. Sheltered from prevailing westerly winds by the coastal strip, the spot works in winds with a southerly component. Depth 1.4 to 2.4 m. SpiritSurf school uses this spot for lessons.

Flat freshwater — no waves, no current. Shallow near north and south access points (standing depth), deeper in the centre (up to 2.4 m). Muddy bottom in places. Average water quality according to Lemvig municipality — wetsuit recommended.
Fishing nets present in the lake during certain periods — real hazard for lines. Swans along the lake edges — avoid them. No rescue services or surveillance. Parking about 500 m west of the abandoned village of Strande (north access).
