Ras Nungwi is a kitesurfing spot located at the northern tip of Zanzibar, Tanzania. Unlike the east coast spots, Nungwi faces north, which changes the wind angle. The southeast trade winds arrive side-offshore during the Kusi season (June to October). The spot offers different conditions from the rest of Zanzibar with less reef and more depth. Suited to intermediate riders, Nungwi is also a lively seaside resort. The tide influences conditions but less extremely than on the east coast.
