Almira is a spot on the Pieria coast, just south of Korinos, on the southwestern shore of the Thermaikos Gulf. Facing east/northeast towards the gulf, this sandy beach offers similar conditions to neighbouring Korinos. The Vardaris (N/NNW) arrives side-shore, creating ideal kitesurfing conditions. Accessible and family-friendly spot, at the foot of Mount Olympus foothills, with a spectacular view of the mythical mountain.
Launch from the east-facing sandy beach. In Vardaris (N/NNW), the wind is side-shore — good riding conditions. In east wind (onshore), more accessible conditions. Progressive depth from the beach. Spot shared with swimmers in summer. Conditions and setup similar to neighbouring Korinos.
Flat to light chop water. Moderate gulf fetch (20 km) not generating large waves. Progressive depth, shallow areas near the shore. Clear water, pleasant temperature in summer. Good conditions for foiling and wingfoiling.

Open all year round
Access from the Pieria coastal road. Parking along the road or in areas near the beach. Some services (tavernas) in the village of Almira.
Relatively safe spot, suitable for beginners. Swimmers in summer — maintain safe distance. In strong Vardaris, conditions too powerful for beginners. No specific supervision for water sports.
The Vardaris (N/NNW) is the dominant wind, descending the Vardar valley and arriving side-shore on this east-facing coast. East/NE winds cross the Thermaikos Gulf and arrive onshore. Thermals reinforced by heating of Olympus slopes to the southwest. The proximity of Olympus can create local slope breeze effects. Wind conditions similar to Korinos, slightly more sheltered by the coastal hills to the south.
