Glen Elder State Park sits on Waconda Lake, a 5,000-hectare reservoir in north-central Kansas. One of the largest bodies of water in the state with excellent fetch and clear prairie wind exposure. The park offers beaches and facilities.

Tornado Alley — supercell thunderstorms and tornadoes. Lightning. Blue-green algae blooms. Relatively remote location. Boat traffic. Strong currents possible.
