Lauderdale Beach is a kitesurfing spot located south-east of Hobart in Tasmania. It is one of the most accessible and popular spots in the Hobart area, situated on the west shore of Ralphs Bay. The prevailing wind comes from the north-west to west in summer. The bay offers relatively calm and sheltered conditions. The water is shallow with a sandy bottom, creating good conditions for beginners. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediate riders. The water is cold, a thick wetsuit is required. Parking and amenities are available. Lauderdale is easily accessible from Hobart.
