Sælvig is a spot in Sælvig Bugt bay on the west coast of Samsø. The bay stretches about 10 km from Mårup in the north to Sælvig in the south, with multiple parking access points. Flat, shallow water (waist-deep for 100 m) with sandy bottom. Stable westerly wind, ideal for progression.

Flat to semi-choppy water. Waist-deep water for 100 m from shore along most of the 10 km bay. Sandy, clear bottom. No significant tidal influence. Very consistent conditions.
No major hazards reported — sandy bottom without rocks. Avoid big jumps in shallow areas. Best season: spring (March-May) and autumn (Sept-Nov) with the most consistent SW/W winds.
