Newhaven - The Pines is a kitesurfing spot located on the north coast of Phillip Island, in Victoria. This spot offers a water body in Western Port Bay, with relatively sheltered conditions suitable for intermediate riders. The prevailing southwest to west winds blow across the bay. The water body is moderately sheltered with manageable chop. Sandbars and shallow areas at low tide create interesting zones for sailing. Access is from Newhaven, at the entrance to Phillip Island. Parking is available. Beware of tidal currents in Western Port Bay and mangrove areas.
