Kitesurf spot at Cap-aux-Os beach, on the north shore of the Baie de Gaspé, at the entrance to Forillon National Park. This small fishing village offers bay access with southeast exposure. Baie de Gaspé, north side. Cold salt water (10-15°C in summer). Moderate tides (1-2m). Good fetch to the southeast (bay opening). Chop in SE wind. Sandy to rocky bottom. The bay offers partial protection from the open ocean. Views of Penouille and the bay's south shore.
Cold water — thick wetsuit required. Rocks along the north shore. Tidal currents. Mountainous terrain can create turbulence and gusts. Recreational boating. Remote from emergency services.
