Braye Beach is the main kitesurfing spot of Alderney, the most northerly of the inhabited Channel Islands. This long sandy beach is well exposed to north and northeast winds. Conditions can be powerful due to exposure to the Alderney Race (Raz Blanchard) currents, the strongest in Europe. The spot is suitable for advanced riders due to the currents. The exceptional tides completely transform the landscape between high and low tide.
