Beaconia is a kitesurfing spot on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg, south of Patricia Beach. Located in the lake's south basin, the spot benefits from western exposure with 30-40 km fetch for the prevailing west and northwest winds. The area is easily accessible from Winnipeg (about 1 hour drive) and is part of the popular east coast beach corridor of Lake Winnipeg. Sandy beach with easy launch.

Freshwater body. Short, regular chop in west winds (30-40 km fetch). Progressive sandy bottom, ideal for beginners near shore. Further out, more committed conditions with waves reaching 1 m. Water relatively warm in summer compared to the north end of the lake.
Violent summer thunderstorms possible on Lake Winnipeg with little warning. Cold water in spring and fall (wetsuit required). Driftwood and debris frequent. Boat traffic in summer. Possible drift currents in north winds along the coast.
