Whangamata Beach is a kitesurfing spot located on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, in the Waikato region, on the North Island of New Zealand. This long sandy beach is renowned for surfing and also offers good kitesurfing conditions with east and northeast winds. The town of Whangamata is a popular seaside destination. The prevailing winds for kiting come from the northeast and east. The spot is suitable for intermediate to advanced kitesurfers due to the Pacific Ocean waves. The beach is wide and offers plenty of space. The bar at the harbor entrance creates excellent waves for surfing and kite-wave riding.
