Overview

Bakkai is a kitesurfing spot in the far north of Hokkaido, near Wakkanai. It is one of Japan's northernmost kitesurfing spots. West to northwest winds are extremely powerful in this area.

The water is exposed to the Sea of Japan. Tides are present. Reserved for expert riders due to extreme conditions, very cold water, and remoteness.
