Baylys Beach is a kitesurfing spot located on the west coast of Northland, near Dargaville. This wild beach faces west, toward the Tasman Sea, and is known for its black volcanic sand and surf conditions. West to northwest winds are onshore and dominant. Southwest winds are side-shore. The Tasman Sea swell is powerful and generates great waves. The wide black sand beach allows landkiting at low tide. Watch out for currents. Spot for intermediate to advanced riders.
