Lake Powidz (Jezioro Powidzkie) is one of the largest lakes in Greater Poland, located in the Pojezierze Gnieźnieńskie (Gniezno Lake District). It is a popular kitesurfing spot in central Poland. The lake covers about 12 km² with a maximum depth of 46m. The elongated body of water offers good sailing distances. The water is clear and the bottom sandy near the shores. The lake works well with west and northwest winds. It is an intermediate spot, appreciated by riders from Poznań and the region. Several water sports bases and leisure centers are set up around the lake.
