Lake Elwell (Tiber Reservoir) is a large reservoir at 909m in northern Montana, on the Marias River. Kitesurf spot exposed to Chinook and prairie winds from the Rocky Mountain Front. Large body of water with excellent fetch in an open plains landscape typical of Montana's Hi-Line.

Large freshwater reservoir with excellent fetch. Cold water. Can produce significant waves in strong winds. Varied shorelines. Variable water level. Little boat traffic.
Powerful and sudden Chinook winds. Grizzly bears possible on the mountain front. Cold water — wetsuit recommended. Violent thunderstorms with lightning. Very remote location — far from any services. Poor cell coverage.
