Overview

Santa Elena is a kitesurfing spot on the north coast of Roatan's east end, in Honduras' Bay Islands. This spot offers access to Caribbean trade wind conditions in a less touristy setting than the island's main spots.

East to northeast trade winds blow consistently from February to August, with speeds of 15-25 knots. The water is partially protected by the barrier reef. Water is warm year-round (25-29°C).

The spot suits intermediate riders. Santa Elena offers a quieter alternative to the popular Camp Bay and Paya Bay spots, with fewer crowds.
