Sprague Lake is a kitesurfing spot in eastern Washington State, at 577m elevation, in the Columbia Basin steppe. This shallow natural lake offers an open body of water exposed to winds in this semi-arid grassland landscape. The lake is wide and offers good flat water conditions. The town of Sprague is nearby. Popular spot among eastern Washington kiters for its consistent windy conditions.

Natural lake with fresh water. Variable temperature (8-22°C/46-72°F depending on season). A 3/2mm wetsuit in summer, 4/3mm in spring/fall. Flat water — excellent for progression. Shallow lake — watch your fins. Muddy to sandy bottom. Water sometimes murky.
Intense summer heat in eastern Washington. Summer thunderstorms with lightning — exit the water immediately. Shallow lake with muddy bottom. Isolated spot — few services. Rattlesnakes possible in surrounding grasslands. Wind can be strong and consistent.
