Kitesurfing spot in Gentilly, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, in the Centre-du-Québec region. The site is between Bécancour and Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, near the former nuclear power plant.
The river offers a good water body at this location, with interesting fetch from north and northwest winds. The relatively low south shore allows winds to cross without too many obstacles. Spot appreciated by local kitesurfers. Season from June to October.
Fresh water from the St. Lawrence River. Summer temperature of 20-23°C. Muddy to rocky bottom. Moderate river current, watch for drift. Chop when wind opposes current. The river is relatively wide at this location, offering a good water body.
