Kitesurfing spot in Sainte-Geneviève-de-Batiscan, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, in the Mauricie region. This area is between Trois-Rivières and Quebec City, along a relatively narrow section of the river.
The river offers a navigable water body with good fetch from south and southwest winds. The north shore benefits from the channeling effect of the river corridor. The site is popular with kitesurfers from the Trois-Rivières area. Season from June to October.
Fresh water from the St. Lawrence River. Summer temperature of 20-23°C. Muddy to sandy bottom. Moderate river current — watch for drift. Chop when wind opposes current. River width sufficient for sailing but watch for the shipping channel.
