Kyani Akti is the northernmost spot on Lefkada, located on the island's northeast coast near the causeway connecting Lefkada to the mainland. The spot is in the transition zone between the lagoon and the maritime channel.
NW/N wind arrives in this area after crossing or wrapping around the island. Conditions are more variable than at the lagoon as the area is more open. Intermediate spot for riders seeking an alternative to the crowded lagoon.
Launching from the coast. Sailing area in the north channel. No kite school on site. Alternative to the lagoon on days when it's too crowded.
Open all year round
Intermediate
Semi-flat water in the channel. Moderate chop in sustained wind. Variable bottom. Clear water.
Parking along the northeast coastal road. Close to the causeway and Lefkada town.
NW/N "Maestro" wind, 10-18 knots in summer. More variable conditions than the lagoon as this northeast area is more exposed to channeling effects in the canal. Possible turbulence due to island terrain.
Maritime traffic in the channel (near the causeway). Possible current. Sometimes turbulent wind. Rocky bottom in places.
