Swamptown Lagoon is a kitesurfing spot near Anacortes in northern Washington State. This lagoon offers a sheltered and shallow body of water, ideal for beginners. The calm lagoon conditions contrast with the more exposed waters of the nearby strait. The spot is influenced by tides. Small but functional body of water for learning and progression.

Sheltered lagoon with cold saltwater (7-13°C/45-55°F). A 5/3mm wetsuit recommended. Flat water — ideal conditions for beginners. Very shallow. Muddy to sandy bottom. Tides influence water level and rideable area.
Cold water — hypothermia. Very small and shallow body of water — watch your fins. Low tide can make riding impossible. Muddy bottom. Residential area — respect neighbors.
