The spot benefits from the lake's warm summer waters and often steady wind on this open shore.

Lac Saint-Jean, south shore. Warm freshwater in summer (20-24°C). Excellent fetch northwest (30+ km). Very shallow sandy bottom for long distances. Short chop forming quickly in NW wind. The shallow lake generates close-spaced waves in strong wind. Riding conditions similar to Pointe Picard.
Violent thunderstorms possible in summer — the lake is very exposed. Short steep waves in strong wind. The lake is large — don't venture too far. Shallows possible. Water cooling at start and end of season.
