Overview

Bethel Beach is a kitesurfing spot in Mathews County, on the west shore of the Chesapeake Bay. This protected natural beach is part of the Bethel Beach Natural Area Preserve. The spot offers direct bay access with good fetch to the east. Mathews County is a rural, quiet region on the Virginia coast, offering a kite experience far from the urban Hampton Roads area. Uncrowded, offering plenty of space and tranquility.
