Wanahoo is a kitesurf spot on Lake Wanahoo, a recent reservoir located between Wahoo and Fremont in eastern Nebraska. This 3 km² lake offers accessible conditions with consistent prairie winds. Sandy beach and boat ramp available. Relatively new lake with modern facilities. Close to Omaha (45 min). Season from May to October.
Freshwater with good visibility for a recent lake. Water temperature from 0°C in winter (frozen) to 26°C in summer. Sandy bottom. Compact lake with limited fetch. Short chop. Full 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall, shorty in summer.

Violent thunderstorms in summer with lightning and possible tornadoes — exit water immediately. Boat traffic in summer. Small lake: risk of drifting to shore in strong winds. Park regulations to respect.
